Happy Sunday!

Today is the day that I start missing hubby and the house is now too quiet. The dogs and I didn't sleep very good last night. They are both missing Dad. So I am glad that he will be home this afternoon. In the meantime, I have plenty of stuff to get done, like laundry and grocery shopping...ugh!!

Here is a picture of the photo collage frame that I bought yesterday at Kohl's (love that store!) Can't wait to fill it up with family pictures and get it hung.

Yesterday I also got another craft keeper for my brads. Not too long ago Peachycheap.com had a great deal on brads. It was like over a 1000 different brads for $14.99 so I bought cause I love brads, just never seem to use them much in projects. Anyway I now have 4 of these little cases full of brads and another couple of packages that I am going to have to get one more for. I love these cases for brads because you can open 1 compartment at a time so none of the other spill if you happen to drop it. They can be found in the bead department of Michael's.

Well I am off to get things done this morning so I can scrap this afternoon.

Shhhh.....Hear That?

Awww yes the sweet sound of peace and quiet. And it has been that way since 5am yesterday when my hubby and daughter left for a fishing weekend together. It's just me and the dogs and it's been pretty nice. Now that's not to say that I don't miss my mister but every once in a while it's nice to have a weekend to myself.

The weather here today was not very nice for it being almost the first of June. Cold and overcast for most of the day. Which was perfect for movie watching this morning. I rented the movie "The Women", the 1930's version. It was pretty funny and the new modern version follows it exactly. I loved all the clothes in the 1930's version. And it was amazing to see how much they all smoked and drank back then in the movies. Check it out if you liked the modern versions cause it's fun to watch the original.

This afternoon I did go out and help the economy a little bit. Found the cutest picture collage frame for the hallway when I get it all painted and re-done. I would post a picture but my batteries died in my camera and I can't find the charger for them. Will try to post a picture later. The good news is it was on sale for 50% off, which made it only $35. Can't wait to fill it with pictures and get it on the wall.

In other news, poor Belle had to have emergency surgery last night. I happy to report that she came through just fine and is now on the road to recovery. She might be able to go home tomorrow, which I know will make my daughter extremely happy. They figured out that she had swallowed a small piece of sewing thread and it got caught in her tummy and caused a bad infection. Who would have thought.....

Well I am off to get some scrapping in before the night is over. I am working on a 4th of July centerpiece. I will post pictures when I am done.

Happy Birthday Priss!

Today my baby turns 23!! Whoo Yooo! Here she is the day that we brought her home and a picture of her last year at her house warming party.

It 's hasn't been the best Birthday for her because her poor kitty Belle has been at the Vet for the last 3 days and still isn't feeling that good. We are hoping for good news tomorrow.

I also have a niece that has a Birthday this month, she is turning 26. Here is the Birthday card that I made her. I love the background paper that I used. I bought it a while ago at Michael's and I am not sure the name of the company. The "make a wish" stamp that I used is one that I bought for a $1 at Michael's. I am hoping that she liked it.

Just as an update, I did get my craft closet cleaned out and I finished that Christmas album this past weekend also. It always feels so nice to get things done that have been hanging around for a while.

25 Days of Dec. - 5 Months Later

So last December I saw a challenge on 2 Peas about taking a picture for 25 days in December and then making an album about it. I thought this was a great idea, we have a lot of family traditions when it comes to the holidays and it would be great to have an album with all of them in one place.

Yeah nice thought and all but here it is Memorial Day weekend and that album is still not finished. So yesterday when I was purging and cleaning my scraproom I decided that my goal for this weekend is to get that album done and off my table. And since I have a girlfriend coming over later today to scrap it should be no problem. Oh except that we are going to Tuesday Morning first and then maybe lunch, so we will see how far I actually get with it.

In the meantime, here is a look at what I have finished in it so far.

The really funny thing about this album is you would not believe how many of the pictures I had to go back and restage because I forgot to take them when it was happening. But all in all it was a fun challenge to do and I am glad that I have pictures of all of our traditions.
Happy Memorial Day!!

Just a Simple Card

This is a card that I made with my new Cricut Expression and the Wild Card cartridge. It's for my niece Jenna. Her and I send cards back and forth all the time. Love hearing from her. I love the ribbon that I ended putting on here at the last minute, really makes the flowers stand out. I am still not sure how to use the Wild Card cartridge but then I haven't had alot of time to play with it either.

Really looking forward to the 3 day weekend coming up. I plan on spending alot of time in the scrap room. I have a girlfriend coming over on Saturday for a day of scrapbooking and fun. I would really like to get our Disneyland album done. I am also planning on purging my scrap room alittle this weekend. My closet is starting to look a little stuffed so I need to go through stuff in there and decide what to keep and what I can get rid of. Hopefully I can get things cleaned up and more organized. I'll let you know how it goes.

Bargain Bin Finds

So one day I was wandering around Michael's (which I do alot, just ask my DH) and came across these in the clearance bin for 50 cent a piece.

Couldn't pass up a deal like that, so I picked up a few just to have in the closet. I figured if nothing else I could paint them and use them to make my own signs or wall hangings. Especially since I just upgraded my cricut to the Expression and have been playing with the cricut vinyl.

My first chance to use one of my finds was when I came up with the idea to make my daughter a sign for her new scrapbook room. Her colors for her new room are brown, pink and her favorite color green. It took me a couple of days to get it the way that I really wanted it to look. But when it was all done I was really happy how it turned out.

Pretty much everything I used came out of my scrapbook stash except for the ribbon. I did have to make a Michael's run for some ribbon but that was about it. I love how it all came together and how girly it was (Kendall is very girly). The finishing touch was all of the ribbon on the wire hanger.
I was very excited to give it to her and was so happy that she loved it!!! It's now hanging on the door to her new scrapbook room. (Which by the way is coming out extremely cute!!!)
Can't wait to make a few other signs with my bargin bin finds.

Update & Mother's Day

Geez I finally learn how to do a blog and I came down with the mother of all head colds and felt awful for all of last week. Couldn't even hardly go to work for most of the week that's how bad it was. But Thank God I am feeling much better this week.

The Mister and I both took a couple days off and made it a long weekend. It was heaven, especially after being sick. We took the RV and dogs and headed out to the Russian River with some friends for 4 days. The weather was beatiful and the dogs spent alot of time in the water. I think we finally wore them out by Sunday afternoon. They layed around camp in the sunshine napping while we all played cards. I didn't realize how much sun there was and came home with a very burnt nose and forehead.....ouch!!!

Anyway, since we weren't home on Sunday, we did a belated Mother's Day dinner with the girls on Tuesday night. We had a great BBQ dinner of London Broil, mashed potatoes with gravey and ceasar salad. Yummy!

We also had a great cake for dessert. After that it was gift time. My girls got me this....

Yipppee! I've been wanting a deep fryer for a while but just hadn't gotten around to getting one. I've wanted one to be able to make apple fritters, donuts and onion rings.
So all in all it was a great Mother's Day and I have 2 wonderful daughters to prove it.
